Passengers in the game behave in the same way. They like to line up at a definite platform and wait for their train to arrive. This is the sole reason why trains do not choose an arbitrary (or any free) platform to stop.

One of the most cherished features of Transport Fever 2 are its highly detailed vehicles. The game comes with more than 200 lovingly hand-modeled trains, ships, and airplanes, each sporting multiple 4k textures and normal maps.
A trademark of Transport Fever 2 are its huge maps. During development of the game, it was always paramount to provide a real sense of scale. The engine should allow for maps where a high-speed train, such as the famous Japanese Shinkansen, can really make use of its superior speed. So, a lot of effort was put into designing a highly effective terrain rendering pipeline that can handle maps of more than 120 sq miles of size with a detail resolution of almost 1 yard. Central to this is a dynamic terrain tessellation algorithm on the CPU that, while costing a bit of extra memory, makes sure the engine can render these maps on a wide variety of PCs.
Transport Fever is a tycoon game that involves creating and developing your own transport company. The game begins in the mid 19th century with the advent of the steam train. From thereon the player constructs a transport network that goes on to include air and sea travel. By linking up areas that require transport links the company evolves and becomes more successful.
For as revolutionary as it was, there were a few rough edges that were largely sanded down by its 1998 sequel. Railroad Tycoon II takes what was great about its predecessor and expands on it in every way. For instance, rather than just one century, it covers the entire history of railroads, from inception to the present day. There are many different scenarios, each with their own goals and rewards, and you can buy and operate more than 50 different types of locomotive engines. Railroad Tycoon II set the bar for the train management genre and remains a benchmark for quality even today. If you prefer old games with grid views to 3D graphics then this is the Railroad tycoon for you.
In 2003, the Railroad Tycoon series stepped into the modern age. The third entry in the franchise saw a change to 3D graphics, dropping the grid-based track building of the previous games. It also upped the number of available locomotives to 60, the most in any Railroad Tycoon game. A complete economic rework rounds out the major changes, making this one of the best strategy games for train enthusiasts.
One of the more recent train sim/management games to hit the market, Railway Empire introduced a wide variety of changes to the formula established by Railroad Tycoon all those years ago. Most prominent among those changes is the ability to research over 300 technologies via a tech tree inspired by 4X games, such as new locomotives, more efficient engines, station upgrades, and plenty more.
Train Fever, from developer Urban Games, has players beginning a transportation empire in 1850 and developing it over a range of decades with road, tram, and rail vehicles. The size and landscape of the game world is customized by players to either be small, medium, or large in addition to either flat or hilly. Each new game world is randomly generated in regards to its landscape and placement of cities which leave the decisions of where to start the transportation empire up to players. As decades advance additional vehicles are unlocked with electrical trains and such in the later years. Train Fever expects the player to ultimately decide on every action of where to expand to or what vehicles to purchase as there isn't any type of objectives or missions.
Train Fever is a game with great potential that is often conflicted by problematic gameplay elements ranging from slow progression to lack of objectives. Fans of transportation management and simulation are sure to find something to enjoy in Train Fever especially with its complete freedom provided to players for expanding their empire of trains and other vehicles. However, Train Fever doesn't provide a welcoming experience to those new to the genre or looking for a more polished gameplay experience from past transportation management titles. Train Fever is only recommended to those that can look past its gameplay issues and have enough patience to overcome its slow progression.
From here on I played it safe and hit the F1 button and was then offered two starting tutorials one for starting a bus line and the other for starting a train line. I went through them both and they were very brief but I learned enough to get my first train moving. I decided to keep it simple at first by sticking to only trains because I saw no use in getting overwhelmed with too much too soon. Following the instruction was fairly easy and soon I had my first train ferrying people between the two towns. Things seemed to be going well. I felt great! More and more people were coming and money was beginning to come in! Naturally I decided with all of these people wanting to ride my train that it was time to expand which was instantly a crisis. Every time one train would get going the other always had to stop and wait behind the other quickly causing all kinds of headaches as well tons of money and time to be wasted. I then paused the game and began to look for the next tutorial. The next few minutes involved me searching for a while in the very limited menu and then pressing every button on the keyboard to see if one brings up tutorial number 2 and I came up with nothing. This is part where I saved and quit to the main menu and found out there is no other instructions in the game of how to play the game.
